An Option for Wisconsin Educators
Enroll in the Master of Arts in Education-Wisconsin program at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and you'll find a learning environment that blends classroom experiences with independent study, online, and blended courses. This program is designed specifically for Wisconsin educators who want to advance their careers and build their skills. In the past, students' independent studies have included themes around curriculum design, special education, National Board certification, technology, and administration. This Master of Arts degree is 32 credits and can be completed in two years.
If you are enrolled in coursework through eduCATE-WI to prepare for a teaching or administrative license in Wisconsin it's important to know that up to 12 of the credits you've earned through eduCATE-WI may be applied to the M.A. in Education- Wisconsin program saving you time and money! Learners in this program are typically K-12 classroom teachers looking to move into leadership or administrative roles after obtaining their masters degree or simply use their learning to improve their teaching and excel as a teacher leader.
Offered at select off-campus locations throughout Wisconsin this program is designed with working, adult learners in mind. Classes typically meet online and via independent study. Two courses will be taken in a blended format which combines face-to-face sessions blended with online learning.
Encouraging the integration of personal and professional experience into the structure of graduate work, this program is based on the premise that growth occurs in the context of self-directed learning and that rigorous, scholarly study must be balanced with experience and personal goals. Through a course mix of online, blended, independent study and face-to-face courses, design a course of study aligned with your research interests.

Applicants must submit:
Completed application form
Non-refundable application fee
Official transcripts posting the applicant’s completed bachelor degree
Other relevant official transcripts documenting potential transfer credits
International transcripts must be evaluated by a university-accepted evaluator
A reflective essay which includes a brief description of the applicant’s background, training, and experience, a description of the areas the applicant considers to be their strengths and areas in which the applicant wishes to develop greater strengths and abilities, and any personal information the applicant wishes to share
Two recommendations that verify professional and/or volunteer experience and/or academic ability
A current résumé listing educational background and work experience
Applicants with international transcripts may require an English language proficiency exam.
